Would you like to help me do a social year in Colombia?

Hello, my name is Raul, I'm 19 years old and I'm from Stuttgart, Germany.

Starting in September, I will be living and working as a volunteer for one year in Bucaramanga, Colombia, through the “weltwärts” program. There, I will work with children who have gone through difficult experiences and support mothers in taking care of their children.

A large part of my travel and living expenses is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. However, I need to raise the remaining amount through donations.

Living in Colombia for a year will be an incredible experience for me. Not only will I step out of my comfort zone, but I’ll also have the chance to make a meaningful contribution to society. Working with children will certainly be challenging, but also deeply fulfilling. I’m really looking forward to it and I’m highly motivated.

Why should you donate to me, of all people? Since I’ve become fluent in Spanish, I’ve had the desire to travel to South America not only to get to know the local culture and living conditions, but also to grow personally and gain new perspectives.

Hallo ich bin Raul, 19 Jahre alt und komme aus Stuttgart in Deutschland.

Ich werde ab September für ein Jahr mit „weltwärts“ als Freiwilliger in Bucaramanga, Kolumbien leben und dort mit Kindern arbeiten, die schwierige Erfahrungen gemacht haben. Außerdem werde ich Müttern dabei helfen, ihre Kinder zu betreuen.

Ein großer Teil meiner Reise und Aufenthalte kosten wird vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung finanziert. Den verbleibenden Betrag muss ich jedoch über Spenden sammeln.

Ein Jahr in Kolumbien zu leben wird für mich eine unglaubliche Erfahrung. Ich werde nicht nur meine Komfortzone verlassen, sondern werde auch die Chance haben, einen sinnvollen Beitrag für die Gesellschaft leisten. Die Arbeit mit Kindern wird sicherlich herausfordernd, aber auch besonders erfüllend. Ich freue mich sehr darauf und bin hochmotiviert.

Warum solltest du ausgerechnet mir spenden?

Seit ich gut Spanisch spreche, habe ich den Wunsch, nach Südamerika zu reisen einerseits, um die Lebensumstände und die Kultur vor Ort kennenzulernen, andererseits, um persönlich zu wachsen und neue Perspektiven zu gewinnen.

¿Por qué querrías donar precisamente a mí?

Como hablo bien español, siempre he querido viajar a Sudamérica para conocer mejor las condiciones de vida y la cultura, y también para dar un gran paso en mi vida personal.

Vivir un año en Colombia será una experiencia increíble. Será una oportunidad para crecer, ampliar mi perspectiva y contribuir de forma significativa a la sociedad. Estoy especialmente motivado para trabajar con niños, ya que creo que será una experiencia muy enriquecedora y desafiante.
