Help Restore the Spencer W. Heaven Memorial Bench
Donation protected
Our story
In Pretzel Park, a simple but profound symbol of remembrance has stood for nearly three decades – the Spencer Webster Heaven Memorial Bench. This bench, more than a resting place, embodies the enduring love of a family and the solidarity of our community. Today, it calls for our collective effort for restoration and to preserve the legacy of my son, Spencer Webster Heaven.

Our Story
When Spencer's journey was cut short by Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1992, my family sought to create a lasting memorial in his favorite park. An English teak garden bench, engraved and shipped with care, was placed in Pretzel Park. Behind it, a cherry tree was planted, with Spencer’s ashes mixed into the soil, symbolizing life’s continuity amidst loss. Since then, this bench has become more than a memorial; it's a community landmark, witnessing countless moments of joy and reflection.
