Spiro Muro is known to his family, friends, and the world as “Speed”. We are sharing Speed's story of survival because he needs your support more than ever!

We never imagined that we’d wish for a “speedy” recovery like upon us now..., and yet we are. We never fathomed that a typical Wednesday morning drop off of his two sons to school was never going to be the same. His wife received a call hearing the most heartbreaking words on the other end barely getting the message out that, “I’ve been shot, I’m at the fire station.”

And yet, in reality, SPEED was shot. A horrific bullet to his head all while his son witnessed the crime. With every ounce of his being, he drove himself to the nearest fire station seeking help, and this act saved his life... And that is where his story continues…

We are pleading for a “Speedy” recovery. A beloved, son, father of eight, husband of 22 years, brother, uncle, friend, and electrician is deserving of. Speed is fighting for his life with an underdetermined date of recovery. Speed will no longer see as he did before that Wednesday morning. He lost his sight and is undergoing facial reconstruction surgery. The bullet passed his brain but still left permanent damage. Speed is learning how to eat again, walk, and see with just one eye. Speed’s journey ahead is one step at a time it’s hour by hour, and then day by day with his utter pain.

Speed’s family is struggling with every bill as well as food, gas, necessities, and everything else that is piling up as he is the sole provider for his family of 10. To make matters even worse, the power was disconnected multiple times at his home for his family. Humbly we ask for assistance with the battle he’s encountering more than ever with financial hardships.

Speed has been turning on many lights in our world as he is a skilled electrician and owner, of SPEED SERVICES, LLC., and he is EAGER to return to work as soon as possible… He has undergone intensive surgeries but will also require physical, occupational, and speech therapy for an undetermined amount of time. With the most recent grueling surgery of 8+ hours, his fight to survive remains admirable. A life that is now altered forever but his mission still continues.

His eight children continue to praise his strength and tenacious spirit while trying to heal each in their own way. One of his twin daughters said it best when asking if his eye was going to grow back…when she learned he lost his eye forever, she said, “You now will see and feel with your heart ️❤️!!”

It’s unbearable to question why innocent people face indescribable pain due to gun violence in our community. Speed always said it best, “It’s not about how hard you fall, but how speedy one can get up from the fall,” and therefore, he’s living out his own message!

Please consider helping Speed make a speedy recovery back to life again so he can soon return to “Lighting up the world around him.” Any help would benefit him and his family significantly. He has three children in college, striving hard to continue their studies with much pain in their hearts. Two of his daughters are graduating soon from college. His youngest three daughters can't wait to walk to the park, read stories, doodle pictures, have princess tea parties, build block castles, and play with their dad again.
