Help Spectrum Thrift Store
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Spectrum Thrift Store Inc, and any donation will help make an impact. They were just informed the rent is going up $5000 per month! They are barely making it as is.
Spectrum Thrift Store is a popular thrift store in Saint Johns that offers employment opportunities to individuals with Autism and developmental delays. It started as the vision of Mark and Alisa Tillman who realized employment opportunities for their teenage son, Lucas, were limited because of his struggles with autism. While they knew that he was capable of hard work, finding the opportunity for employment was difficult. With a handful of other special needs parents as members of their board, they formed Spectrum Thrift Store with the vision of a store being run almost entirely by special needs individuals of all abilities.
Currently, they employ 14 clients offering them on-the-job training to better prepare them for corporate America. They give back too! Each month, Spectrum Thrift Store selects an ESE program or charity that they feel best fits their mission of inclusion and education for the autism and special needs community in and around Jacksonville. They have a "Give Back Jar" that consists of donations from customers. That money goes to a different organization each month.
They are an important part of our community. If they have to leave it will leave a huge void for not only Saint Johns but for the many clients that benefit from their organization.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this very worthy cause.
