Special Parent's Afternoon Out Respite Fall 2022
Special Parents Organization is a community service organization that partners with local non-profit organizations to provide respite and a complimentary lunch/dinner out for the parents of special needs children while volunteers provide 1 on 1 care for their children and siblings in a carnival-like atmosphere.
Northern New Jersey Special Parent's Afternoon Out Respite Event & Family Funfest - Fall 2022
Sunday, October 30th, 2022 (12:30 - 3 pm)
As parents of a child with multiple disabilities, we have learned over the years of the absolute necessity to take time out of our busy schedules to ‘recharge our batteries’ and invest quality time into our marriage relationship so that we can maintain a strong foundation for meeting the physical and emotional needs of our child. All too often, it becomes difficult or next to impossible for parents of children with disabilities to take these needed breaks due to a lack of qualified child care and/or the disposable income to treat themselves to an afternoon or night out. In the spirit of meeting this need, in 2009, my wife Denise and I founded Special Parents Organization (www.special-parents.org ).
Once again, in the Fall of 2022 and Spring of 2023, we will be hosting our 22nd, and 23rd Special Needs Carnival and Respite events! The Special Parents Organization ( www.special-parents.org) and Resurgent Church (www.resurgentchurchnj.com ) have partnered with local area restaurants to sponsor a complimentary “Special Parent’s Afternoon (Lunch) Out” event on Sunday, October 30th, 2022 and a "Special Parent's Night (Dinner) Out" event in May of 2023, while their children are cared for and entertained by loving and qualified volunteers.
Buy a meal!! - $50 treats one set of parents! Over 300 guest families and over 600 guest children are expected to attend our 2022 & 2023 events. To learn more or volunteer, visit www.special-parents.org.
