Registered Charity Number 1192758 (Special Needs Support Pakistan)

Purpose of Fundraising:
We intend to establish an academy and shelter home for Autistic kids in Pakistan. There is not much special needs support available over there in terms of educations settings and decent shelter facilities for vulnerable homeless autistic kids.
We have a preliminary set up of relevant professionals like speech & language therapists, behavioural & occupational therapists, educational psychologists, nutritionists & dietitians, teachers and head teachers of special needs schools & other settings etc. from all across the globe, who are willing to provide their technical expertise for this noble cause.
We need to establish a place in Pakistan (rent or outright purchase depending on the response of fundraising) where professionals, who are expert in their field, can provide direct or indirect (via training) assistance in;
a) speech and language therapists
b) occupational therapies
c) behavioural therapies
d) sensory issues
e) motor skills
f) sleeping pattern support
g) toilet training
h) assessment procedures
A bit about Autism:
Autism (or ASD) is a lifelong neurodevelopmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. Most of the Autistic children need round the clock care including inside and outside home, feeding, bathing, changing, toilet etc.
a) They may not have any speech whatsoever, so it can become quite frustrating for them to communicate their message. Their Brain works and processes information differently to a normal brain. It can be quite overwhelming for them in certain settings causing meltdowns and shutdowns.
b) They may lack on motor skills and sense of danger, making them vulnerable to road accidents.
c) They need specialised therapies including speech & language, behavioural, communication, potty training etc to make them independent.
Our inspiration:
Usually, it is quite hard to come out of denial stage when your kid is diagnosed with a life long disability/illness. This is a life-changing event effecting your family, relationship, career and much more. However, with Autism, parents already have an idea that their kid is somewhat different from others, in most cases. Trustees of this charity have 2 beautiful autistic kids (7 & 9 years, the elder one being shown in the title pic) and are well aware of the challenges faced by these kids as well as their parents. Being Londoners, they feel that support available to such kids is appropriate, if not great, in terms of school settings, therapies, courses, pick & drop facility, financial support to a certain extent etc.
They now believe that it is right time to do something for less advantaged autistic kids and their families in Pakistan, where there is a lot to be done not only in respect of academics, therapies or school settings but also in providing vulnerable homeless autistic kids with a safe accommodation/shelter home.
Thank you message:
On behalf of all vulnerable homeless kids who will become our guests in the shelter home and on behalf of all autistic kids & their families who will use our academy facilities in any shape or form, we say a huge Thank you for contributing to this good cause.
