Asalamu alaykoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
My name is Rhizlanne, and I’m the founder of Amanah Academy SEND — a small but growing project that’s very close to my heart.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve been working with children who have special educational needs (SEND) and mental health difficulties. These are children who often get forgotten or misunderstood, and sadly, I’ve realised that there’s still very little awareness or support for them in our Muslim community.
This really hit me hard. As an ummah built on mercy and care, we should be leading the way in supporting these families — but too often, they’re left struggling alone.
In 2021, I lost my dear father to Covid. May Allah have mercy on him and grant him the highest place in Jannah. After he passed, I used the money he left me to fund this project — buying resources, sensory tools, and anything else I could to help these children. I wanted to honour him by doing something that would bring ongoing reward: Sadaqah Jariyah.
But I’ve now reached the point where I simply can’t carry on alone. And that’s why I’m reaching out — to ask for your support.
These children are not a burden — they are a blessing.
The Prophet ﷺ told us:
“The pen is lifted from three: the child, the sleeper, and the one who is not of sound mind.”
(Sunan Abi Dawood)
They are the children of Jannah. Their innocence is protected. But the test is on us — how will we treat them? Will we step up for them? Will we support their families?
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“Give glad tidings to the patient…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:155)
Some families are being tested through their children, and I believe our role is to help ease their path — with care, kindness, and practical support.
Through your donations, we hope to:
• Set up a dedicated space for these children
• Buy the right tools, sensory equipment, and learning resources
• Offer mental health support and therapy sessions
• Train people who want to help but don’t know how
• Raise awareness in our community so no one feels alone
