Spartan Beast Race for Dementia UK
Donation protected
On May 11th, I'm taking part in the London-West Spartan Beast. A 22km course involving 30 challenging obstacles.
"This is the ultimate Spartan test; a challenging 13.1-mile course teeming with 30 obstacles that require strength, skill, and grit. Elevation changes and uneven terrain will leave your lungs and legs burning. The Beast is notorious around the world for its degree of difficulty."
The main reason I'm doing this challenge is to fundraise for Dementia UK, a cause which is close to my heart.
If you know me personally, it's likely you'll know how close I am to my Grandad, Terry. He's the main man responsible for my obsession with music & collecting records. We still meet up every Sunday to watch the footy and have a pint together. He's a social character and a family man.
Sadly, Terry suffers from vascular dementia and this has effected his life in almost every aspect. Since his wife Carol (my Grandma), passed away, his dementia has become more serious over the years, and it has been a difficult journey for me and my family to witness his personal battle.
I'm raising money for Dementia UK as they currently receive no government funding and rely solely on voluntary donations. As the largest dementia charity in the UK, every pound matters.
If you're reading this, I'm asking for a kind donation of £5 to help me achieve my target:
