The donations reflected on this page do not include donations made directly to the City of Sausalito or Sausalito Beautiful.*

With the help of generous residents and friends we are almost there!  Over $70,000 has been raised but we still need your help to reach or goal of $75,000.

Sausalito Beautiful is also donating the landscaping plan designed by SWA, and SWA is making an in kind contribution for the half the cost estimated at $7500. For those not familiar, Sausalito Beautiful is dedicated to the improvement and ongoing care of Sausalito's public landscapes. SWA is a landscape architecture firm with offices in Sausalito working in partnership with Sausalito Beautiful. The City of Sausalito and Sausalito Beautiful have collaborated on a number of beautification projects, including Bridgeway medians, MLK Park, and Caledonia Street.

We are also introducing sponsorship levels to encourage and recognize our community donors.

·    Coast Live Oak Sponsor - we will recognize up to three donors that contribute $10,000 or more by designating a park bench in their name. One bench has already been designated. Two benches remain.
·    Madrone Sponsor - we will recognize up to five donors that contribute $5,000 or more by designating one of three shade trees in their name or one of two planting beds. Four of these sponsorship opportunities are still available.
·    Sycamore Sponsor - all donors will be recognized on-line, will receive a commemorative gift, and will be invited to a future ribbon cutting ceremony with City Council (COVID gathering restrictions will be respected and followed).

By way of background, the City of Sausalito has allocated more than $2,000,000 from Measures F and O plus additional grants to renovate Southview Park, in Old Town Sausalito. These funds will underwrite necessary infrastructure improvements, from basketball and tennis courts to a new green lawn and an enticing – and accessible - play structure for children. Unfortunately, due to the financial challenges imposed by COVID19, the City is unable to fund the complete project. What is not covered by the City is the cost for landscaping and amenities, and this is where we need your support.

All donations are tax deductible and may be submitted via credit card through the donation button below which will take you to a GoFundMe page. Donations by check can be sent to Friends of Southview Park, 420 Litho Street, Sausalito, CA 94965. Please make the check out to "City of Sausalito" and write "Southview Park Donation" in the note line. The totals on the GoFundMe page do not reflect donations by check.

Mayor Susan Cleveland-Knowles recently established a Blue Ribbon Committee to pursue alternate sources of funding to help fill the City's budget gaps resulting from COVD19 financial challenges. The Blue Ribbon Committee includes Carolyn Revelle, Ken Schwarz, Bill Hynes, Brandy Vause, Greg Thomson, Sam Ruben, Mike Langford, Tom Reilly, and Mayor Cleveland-Knowles. Together we are Friends of Southview Park.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to our community.
