I remember leaving for college two days after the fires decimated our Community. I felt like a coward, and was ashamed hearing the stories of my friends, and peers pushing through this adversity. Not only working on making ends meet during this crazy pandemic, but the fires that burned all of their belongings as well.
David Goggins, a former Navy Seal and Army Ranger, gave me the idea to do this fundraiser for our Community. I will be running a 4x4x48, which means running 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. I’m doing this to help the people of Southern Oregon that were affected by these terrible fires. I will be running this event on March 5th-7th. Updates on the event will come in the near future. Whether it is live streamed on Instagram (@spencerj_42), or shared on the local news.
I have written a letter that is ready to send to the Mayors of Medford, Phoenix, Talent, and Ashland. This will help me distribute the funds the best way possible. I will also be writing letters to different local businesses in hopes of raising more money. Southern Oregon is a tough Community, and I chose a tough challenge to demonstrate just that!
