Immigrant families in South Minneapolis are facing urgent legal and financial crises — often with little warning and limited support. When someone is detained, ordered to appear in immigration court, or suddenly at risk of losing housing or food, the costs can be immediate and overwhelming.
This fund exists so neighbors can step in when systems fail.
We are a community-based mutual aid effort raising funds to support immigrants in South Minneapolis who need immediate immigration legal assistance and emergency support during critical moments.
What Your Donation Supports
Immigration Legal Support
• Immigration attorney fees
• Court filing fees
• Immigration bond or bail
Emergency Living Assistance (urgent cases only)
• Food
• Housing (rent or emergency shelter)
• Clothing
Emergency assistance is provided only when the need is immediate and life-sustaining, such as preventing eviction or addressing food insecurity during an active legal case.
How Funds Are Used
This is a community-based mutual aid fund, not a nonprofit. Funds are managed using clear internal guidelines and are paid directly to attorneys, courts, bond offices, or trusted service providers whenever possible.
We coordinate with licensed immigration attorneys and established providers. We do not provide legal advice.
Transparency & Important Information
• Donations are not tax-deductible
• Regular updates are shared on how funds are used
• No personal or identifying information is ever shared
• Funds are used only for the purposes described here
Access to legal representation can mean the difference between family separation and stability, detention and freedom. Your support helps ensure that when a crisis hits, help is already here.
Thank you for standing with our immigrant neighbors.
