South Downs 21km Half Marathon Run for Crimsham Veterans Hub
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Louis Miles...
I am a 37-year-old veteran who served with the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment in the British Army for eight years, including two tours of duty in Iraq. After leaving the army, I faced significant challenges, both physically and mentally. I was soon diagnosed with chronic Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and sustained multiple injuries including issues with my right foot and knee (which required four surgeries), a prolapsed disc in my lower back (one procedure), and a right shoulder injury (one surgery). As a result, I am registered as disabled.
I am participating in the South Downs 21 km Half Marathon organised by UK Running Events, a very hilly trail which will be my final run! Due to my injuries, I typically struggle to walk, let alone run. This event holds special significance for me, as I am dedicating it to the Crimsham Veterans Hub, a community interest company that provides essential support to veterans.
Projects like the Crimsham Veterans Hub have been a vital resource for me during my journey to reintegrate into civilian life, manage my PTSD, and navigate the challenges of recovery from various operations. I believe in the importance of such projects and the positive impact they have on veterans like myself.
So, I would be incredibly grateful for any support you can provide to help make my last run a meaningful one. Your contributions will not only motivate me but also support a cause that is deeply important to me and many others.
Thank you for your generosity!
