As you may be aware Scouting has been an integral part of life in Ireland for over 100 years, allowing so many young people develop skills, knowledge and friendships. Scouting is about team work and developing lifelong skills which these young people can incorporate into everyday life. We’ve watched these young people grow into very talented and capable young adults who are going out in search of their futures and dreams.
Once such dream was to take our skills to South Africa, to share these skills with other young people, but in return they will have an opportunity to learn and develop new skills and experiences themselves.
I’m reaching out on behalf of Killorglin and Fossa Scout Groups. We are travelling to South Africa in August this year to take part in a community service project.
Our Scouts will be helping with local development initiatives, supporting young people, and engaging in environmental projects. They will be working with multiple charities. It’s a unique opportunity for them to learn, grow, and make a meaningful difference.
To make this possible, we’re asking for support from local businesses like yours. A donation—financial or in-kind—will help cover the costs of travel, equipment, and materials for our work abroad. In return, we’d be delighted to recognize your business in our fundraising events, and social media posts.
For this trip we need to raise €10,000 in donations, to date we have raised just over €2,000. Would you be open to supporting our Scouts on this journey? Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to making this project a reality.
