- PERCHE' LA CAMPAGNA DI CROWFOUNDING?
Perchè con la pandemia di Covid-19 e le misure di prevenzione sanitaria necessarie per contenere il rischio contagio tutte le attività che si svolgevano al suo interno si sono fermate e conseguentemente anche la capacità di sostentamento.
In una situazione di crisi generale, nel suo piccolo e nel suo grande, anche questo luogo risente pesantemente di questo periodo di isolamento. Pur non sapendo ancora quando e come si potrà riaprire, siamo consapevoli, purtroppo, che le spese ci sono lo stesso, e ingenti (affitto-mutuo-bollette, circa 8/9.000 mensili), anche a stare chiusi.
Per questo chiediamo a tutti, sia a coloro che ci hanno trascorso una serata o un anno intero, a chi ne ha semplicemente sentito parlare, a chi vorrebbe scoprirlo, a coloro che hanno organizzato eventi, corsi, attività, a coloro che li hanno frequentati o che li frequentano, a chi fa Hip Hop o vuole conoscere le Danze del Sud, a chi ama il Tango, lo Swing la Tap Dance o vuole cimentarsi con il canto o imparare a suonare l'ukulele, per chi ama fare Yoga, Feldenkrais e l’energia che questo luogo trasmette... per chi ha piacere che a Firenze esista un luogo dove poter continuare a vivere eventi e serate di bella musica e stile... a tutti chiediamo un sostegno.
Un piccolo contributo che aggiunto a tutti gli altri restituirà l’energia necessaria per far continuare a battere il grande cuore del Renny!
- COS'E' RENNY?
Il Renaissance, per tutti semplicemente “Renny”, è nato con l'intento di creare a FIRENZE un luogo dove esperienze e progetti si incontrano, dove appassionati, ballerini, amanti della musica, artisti di generazioni diverse trovano disponibilità di spazi, di strumenti e di espressione. Uno spazio dove socializzare, ballare, suonare, leggere e ascoltare buona musica.
E' un circolo culturale? Sportivo? Una sala da ballo? Una scuola di ballo? La palestra dove fare yoga o arti marziali?
NO.... NON E’ SOLO QUESTO!
Una proposta culturale, uno stile di vita che unisce il passato con le attuali tendenze della musica, della danza e della moda. Attraverso la formazione, gli eventi di musica e ballo, ci si ritrova senza fare uso di alcool, droghe, pertanto in controtendenza e dove “l’ora del Campari” è quella che segna l’inizio dei concerti.
Gli eventi sono così punto di ritrovo per giovani e meno giovani, che sperimentano un modo per incontrarsi, conoscersi, integrarsi e divertirsi insieme attraverso una passione e una lingua comune. Un Luogo dove si celebra la musica e il ballo, ma anche la gioia, l’aggregazione tra diverse culture e generazioni, la buona educazione, dove tutti possono divertirsi assieme, un posto dove si socializza in modo sano, con rispetto e armonia d’altri tempi quasi dimenticati.
Con un grosso investimento in termini economici, di energie e anche umani, attraverso queste forme di arte, ballo, musica, teatro, cinema, eventi a tema, il Renaissance dal 29 settembre 2018 si rivolge ad un pubblico ampio ed eterogeneo, di cultura e condizioni sociali differenti, alle diverse realtà operanti nell'ambito culturale, musicale, della danza, dello sport affinché possa essere un luogo per attività sportive e corsi di ballo, di canto, di musica, di meditazione, ma anche per essere luogo aggregativo e di riferimento dove trascorrere serate, giocare, ascoltare musica o leggere un bel libro, bere un orzo maltato e/o guardare gli altri ballare.
- PERCHE' RENNY?
Renaissance fu un movimento artistico-culturale afroamericano sorto verso l'inizio degli anni venti negli Stati Uniti. Il centro nevralgico del movimento fu il quartiere di Harlem, a New York, e da lì si espanse nei centri urbani di tutti gli Stati Uniti. Attraverso lo sviluppo di tutte le forme d'arte (letteratura, teatro, musica, arti visive, danza) e delle scienze sociali (sociologia, storiografia, filosofia), artisti e intellettuali trovarono nuove vie per esplorare ed approfondire l'esperienza storica degli afroamericani, nonché la vita dei neri dell'epoca nelle grandi città degli Stati Uniti settentrionali.
Renaissance era anche una famosa e storica “Ballroom” dove bianchi e neri si affollavano a ballare nel centro di Harlem. Fu proprio qui che Franky Manning, ambasciatore del Lindy Hop e dello Swing, iniziò a muovere i suoi primi passi e fu qui che questa danza iniziò a prendere vita. Sono stati proprio i ballerini a rinominare il Renaissance Ballroom semplicemente “RENNY”, un diminutivo dolce, affettuoso e amichevole.
Chiediamo un investimento sul proprio tempo libero, quello dove perseguiamo davvero i nostri interessi. Che il Renny resti aperto sarà un bene per tutti!

- WHY THE CROWFOUNDING CAMPAIGN?

- WHAT IS RENNY?
The Renaissance, aka "Renny", was born with the aim of building up a place in Florence where experiences and projects meet; where fans, dancers, music lovers, artists from different generations find their space, their tools and their chance of expression. A cultural offer, a lifestyle that merge together the past with current music trend, dance and fashion. Through training, music and dance events, we find ourselves without using alcohol, drugs, therefore in contrast, and where "Campari time" is the one that marks the beginning of the concerts.
Events are thus a meeting point for young and old who experience a way to meet up, get to know each other, integrate and have fun together through passion and common language. - WHY RENNY?
Renaissance was an African-American artistic-cultural movement that was born in the United States in the early 1920s. The center of the movement was the Harlem borough in New York, and from there it expanded into urban centers across the United States. Through the development of all forms of art (literature, theater, music, visual arts, dance) and social sciences (sociology, historiography, philosophy), artists and intellectuals found new ways to explore and deepen the historical experience of African Americans as well as the life of Black people of that time in the big cities of the northern United States.
Renaissance was also a famous and historic "Ballroom" where balck and white people flocked to dance in downtown Harlem. Un lugar donde se celebra la música y la danza, pero también la alegría, la agregación entre diferentes culturas y generaciones, la buena educación, donde todos pueden divertirse juntos, un lugar donde pueden socializar de manera saludable, con respeto y armonía casi olvidados.
Con una gran inversión en términos económicos, energéticos e incluso humanos, a través de estas formas de arte, danza, música, teatro, cine, eventos temáticos, el Renny del 29 de septiembre de 2018 está dirigido a un público amplio y heterogéneo, de diferentes condiciones sociales, a las diferentes realidades que operan en los campos culturales, musicales, de danza, deportivos para que pueda ser un lugar para actividades deportivas y danza, canto, música, meditación, pero también para ser un lugar de reunión y referencia dónde pasar las tardes, jugar, escuchar música o leer un buen libro, beber una cebada malteada y/o ver bailar a otros.
POR QUÉ RENNY?
Reinassance fue un movimiento artístico-cultural afroamericano que surgió en los Estados Unidos a los principios de 1920. El centro neurálgico del movimiento fue el barrio de Harlem de Nueva York, y desde allí se expandió a los centros urbanos en todo Estados Unidos. Mediante el desarrollo de todas las formas de arte (literatura, teatro, música, artes visuales, danza) y ciencias sociales (sociología, historiografía, filosofía), artistas e intelectuales encontraron nuevas formas de explorar y profundizar la experiencia histórica de los afroamericanos. así como la vida de los negros de la época en las grandes ciudades del norte de los Estados Unidos.
Renaissance también fue un famoso e histórico "Ballroom" donde blancos y negros acudieron a bailar en el centro de Harlem. Fue precisamente aquí donde Franky Manning, embajador de Lindy Hop y Swing, comenzó a dar sus primeros pasos y fue aquí donde este baile comenzó a cobrar vida. Fueron los bailarines los que rebautizaron el Renaissance Ballroom simplemente "RENNY", un diminuto dulce, cariñoso y amigable.
