S.O.S- Save Our Scout hut! 3rd5th Lancing

We are 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scouts!
We are an incredibly active and passionate group who have over 100 children aged between 6 and 14 on our books in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
Our current premises hut is over 100 years old - and is showing it!!
The last year, due to covid has meant the hut has not been in regular use and this has caused issues to become so serious, that currently it is unsafe for the children to return!!
There are issues with damp, the hut needs rewiring, we have a badger issue and are limited in what we can do as they are a protected species, the walls of the hut are dripping with damp, and much more....
We are doing all we can as a community to do works ourselves, to keep costs down, and to work within covid restrictions - which as you can imagine, is tricky to do all at once!
We desperately wish for the building to be safe as soon as possible, so that the children can return to Scouting and enjoy some fun together and make the most of Spring Summer 2021 whilst learning new skills and developing friendships.
Anything you can give will 100% go towards essential works enabling the children to be able to return as soon as possible.
