Please listen to the voices of our children in the video
ADDUP is a vital not-for-profit organisation supporting children with ADHD and their families across Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, and the Southeast for nearly 29 years.
In a challenging funding climate, ADDUP continues to offer face-to-face services and inclusive programmes that empower neurodiverse children. Families and educators praise ADDUP’s impact, noting improved understanding, calmer households, and better classroom experiences. Services include a drama group, and holiday programmes, providing safe spaces for children and respite for parents.
With ADHD affecting 5–7% of school-age children, ADDUP bridges gaps in support and education, helping children thrive despite long diagnostic wait times.
Founded by parents, ADDUP’s mission is to ensure every child is seen, heard, and supported. Donations help sustain these essential services and build a future where differences are celebrated.
£10,500 will enable us to run our After School Club for one year, which we are currently unable to run due to lack of funding.

Welcome and thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page. ADDUP is a lifeline for children and families living with ADHD however in this economic climate we are struggling to access funding to continue our services.
ADDUP is a small not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and their families. Founded by parents, ADDUP’s mission is to empower neurodiverse children by providing activities, training, guidance, and understanding. We recognise that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of the challenges they face.
ADHD affects approximately 5–7% of school age children which impacts their attention, focus and impulsive behaviour. ADHD affects friendships, family relationships, confidence and self-esteem. Children will struggle in the classroom as they try to fit into a system that they are not wired up for which can lead to exclusions, lack of motivation and leaving education with little or no qualifications. While the journey with ADHD is unique for every child, there is a constant need for compassion, tailored interventions, and supportive networks to help these children achieve their educational goals.
For many families, accessing resources, therapy, and educational support can be daunting especially when faced with long waiting lists for assessment and diagnosis, this is where ADDUP steps in. Through our dedicated programmes we work to bridge the gap, ensuring no child is left behind due to lack of support or understanding.
We have developed and delivered services that meet the ever-changing needs of families living with ADHD including:
An After School Club and a drama group along with our school holiday programmes that give the children a safe space where they don’t need to justify their disability, they can leave the label at the door, and they are supported by neurodiverse staff & volunteers who completely understand them, these programmes also give parent/carers much needed respite.
What families have said about our children’s service:
• ADDUP is a godsend for our family. It is the only place that gives us peace of mind in looking after our son. It is truly inclusive in every way. Thank you for all you do.
• When my children arrive, they can be nervous, this summer has seen them not wanting to leave which is because of the compassion and understanding of the staff, thank you.
• S…. has had a wonderful week with ADDUP. Being able to do fun crafts and make friends has really helped build her confidence. Our family are so grateful for everything ADDUP has done for S…. A huge thank you from all of us.
We are very proud of our “Monster Inside” parent and child training programme, a programme we have developed based on a child telling us about his “ADHD Monster who lives inside him and tells him to do bad things” we turned that negative into a positive by teaching the children to take control of their “monster” and to use their ADHD as a superpower to make good choices. This is a well respected programme that is recommended by professionals including clinicians and educators.
Parents who have completed the course comment:
• “This is voodoo, it works, we have a better understanding of our child and life is looking brighter for us”.
• “I feel more in control”
• “I understand my son’s feelings now”
• “I am happier, and my family is calmer, and we feel like a family unit now”
• “Keeping to the rules and following things through, I have learnt to talk less, think about what I say, and I listen to my son”.
Educators who have completed the course comment:
• This course has helped me understand the ADHD child in my class
• Using a different language makes sense now
• Coming from someone with lived experience made the training come to life and was delivered with passion and commitment
• I know the changes I need to make to my classroom
We have been providing services to families in Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge and the Southeast for almost 29 years, there is no other proactive, face to face service specifically for children and families living with ADHD in these areas. We recognise that every child with ADHD deserves to be seen, heard, and empowered.
By supporting ADDUP, you will be investing in our children’s hope for a better future where they can achieve their goals by learning how to manage their ADHD, succeed in their education to be able to give back to society as our children who have accessed our services over the years will testify to, they credit ADDUP’s support, training and guidance with the success they have achieved.
Thank you for believing in the extraordinary potential of every child.
With your help, we can continue to provide services to meet the needs of the children and ensure that no one makes that journey alone. However, if ADDUP no longer exists, who will help these children and their families? Our biggest concern is no one will!
If you have any questions or would like to get involved further, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can build a world where differences are celebrated and every child can thrive.
With heartfelt thanks,
The ADDUP Team
