Hi, my name is Cindy Banach. I’m asking help for my brother Dan Barnard and his wife Val. Dan was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer, but sadly cancer metastasized to his bones, lungs, etc. He was supposed to be discharged from Upstate Hospital on 2/17 to go home under the care of his family and hospice. That morning their house caught fire and is pretty much destroyed. They do have insurance and the adjuster determined that the fire started from chemicals that were stored under the attached deck combusted. So they have lost their home and all their possessions. And it will take time to rebuild. Val and their neighbor were able to move some furniture into the vacant home next door temporarily. Hospice came and set up a hospital bed, wheelchair, etc. and Dan was discharged and is now home with his wife Val and adult kids Ben & Rachel. Family is visiting when Dan can tolerate company.

My heart is broken and they can use our help. Dan, God bless him, is so worried about Val and the task of putting life back together.
