Hi, I'm Ash!

Trying to make a long story short here but we are a blended family of 6 people who are facing having to move again. Last year we forced to move from a house we were renting because that landlord lied about selling the house and we felt pressured to leave. We managed to find somewhere just before the deadline we had been given, though that move cost us a lot of money and wasn't ideal for our needs. For financial reasons we need to stay together as a household. None of us can afford to live anywhere if we split.

It's not 100% set in stone at the moment of writing this, but it's likely that we will be needing to move again this year. The current landlords are nice, so that's not the problem, but they have said from the start that our tenancy was going to be short term, and there are strong possibilities of this house getting sold sooner than later.

Honestly we're just trying to get ahead of things so we don't end up having to scramble, and our current lease will be up at the end of April anyway. This house is alright, but was never ideal from the start for our needs, and rent is getting increased by $200 a month if we stay (house is brand new so not rent-controlled), so if we can find something that suits us better we would rather be able to make the choice ourselves instead of it being made for us.

Unfortunately our biggest hurdle is being able to have first & last rent ready in any sort of quick time frame. Half of us work full-time, even work far more hours than full-time should be, and all of us adults at least have some kind of income. It's a huge struggle but we can get by covering rent and utilities on a regular basis, it's just hard to come up with a ton of money all at once.

I set the goal as $7000 because that what a first & last would be for the maximum rent in our budget, but anything would help. All I am hoping for is to ease some of the financial burden for all of us, and be able have funds ready so that in the inevitable reality that we WILL have to move eventually we will be able to secure a place easier.
