After being violently arrested on March 5, 2023, Victor was incarcerated for 11 months— first in DeKalb County jail in Atlanta, and then in Fulton County jail and the Stewart Detention Center. Having been displaced from his homelands in his youth, and being an immigrant to the so-called United States, he spent 8 of these months in ICE detention. In September 2023, he learned he was one of 61 people indicted in the highly repressive RICO case that is attempting to criminalize any and all efforts to stop Cop City.
Finally freed in February 2024, Victor is now awaiting his documentation, which means he has been unable to work. He also faces difficulties with getting hired due to his pending RICO charges, and anti-immigrant fervor creates even more difficulty around getting a job. As Victor and his 60 codefendants prepare for trial, financial support is needed to help him cover basic living expenses like food, housing, healthcare, truck maintenance, care for his beloved puppy, traveling to Atlanta as needed for court, and continuing to support Indigenous elders in remote communities.
In the spirit of solidarity with those facing state repression, please support Victor in covering essential needs throughout this lengthy process. As he prepares to stand against the false allegations he faces, your support will help him maintain his well-being and stay spiritually strong while continuing to engage in mutual aid and support Indigenous elders and families.
