Soldiers of Imjin Challenge
Donation protected
The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum holds the history of war and soldiers lost in battle from Gloucester. It is a vital hub for veterans, serving soldiers, families, is a frequent visitor attraction and they need our support.
The Soldiers of Gloucester museum relies on public support and donations to ensure it can operate, educate generations past & present on the sacrifices made by British & Commonwealth Soldiers, as well as maintaining current and future exhibitions.
To mark the unofficial 70th Anniversary of the The Korean conflict on the 25 Jun 2020, 170 (Imjin) Battery will attempt cover the 5600 miles from the museum to Hill 235 in South Korea starting, where the Glorious Glosters and C Tp, 170 Bty fought so bravely. We have set ourselves this task starting from 11 May - 25 Jun 20 to try and raise £1000 with the help of serving and ex serving soldiers of Imjin.
Your support will ensure the survival of this great museum which takes great pride in remembering those who fought with tremendous exhibitions and displays. 170 (Imjin) Battery would like to raise much needed funds for the museum in unprecedented times to ensure their memories are safe guarded for future generation.
Finally, we are very fortunate to have 3 living veterans who are well respected by the museum, they are Tommy Clough, Jim Jacobs and Sam Mercer.
The Battery is immensely proud of the courage and the bravery of the Glorious Glosters and the Gunners who supported and fought beside them.
Please check out the museum website for information, history, other ways you can help and items available from their shop which can be delivered to you.
