On Tuesday, September 5th, our lovely friend Sonali was named-alongside 60 others- in the state of Georgia’s RICO indictment against the local and global efforts to Stop Cop City. We are enraged at the state’s predatory actions, but rise to the occasion to show unbending support for all defendants in the many interweaving charges and indictments surrounding this movement. Sonali is many things- a brilliant scientist, compassionate partner, loyal daughter, fierce comrade, and goofy friend. We are asking you to show some solidarity and lend support in recognition of all she does for the communities she is a part of.

Due to rigorous and increasingly synchronized criminal background check processes, Sonali is effectively blocked out of the science/tech/medical field until we defeat these charges. Rather than let this case stop her passion for research and experimentation she is determined to continue on her path towards a beautifully weird, adaptive and collective future. Furthermore, we would like to offer support to Sonali’s mother who will be facing travel expenses and emotional stress during this process.

***UPDATE*** On Monday, November 6th, Sonali was arraigned in the Fulton County Courthouse alongside the other defendants in this case. She was granted consent bond, booked and released on Tuesday, November 7th thanks to the collective defense and mutual aid efforts around this case. While collective defense of the movement to Stop Cop City is a priority for fundraising, we are asking for support to help Sonali cover the financial stresses that exceed collective resources.
