Over 1 billion people worldwide have no access to stable and sustainable power; a necessity taken for granted in many urban countries today. Across the Philippines, countless communities struggle with the absence of electricity. Millions of Filipino families live below the poverty line, and the opportunities their children receive are significantly reduced due to their access to electricity. In comparison, 100 percent of people living in the United States have access to reliable and efficient electricity.
For over 20 years, Solar Village Foundation has partnered with and developed isolated villages across the Philippines. Miles away from the nearest town or city, these villages lack food, water, communication, shelter, and other vital necessities. In 2023 alone, Solar Village Foundation provided solar-powered printing systems to over 11 schools in 2 different provinces, benefitting 82 teachers and 1,423 students. Their team also provided portable solar lanterns with emergency power bank capabilities to over 300 teachers in 40 different schools. With the help of the Solar Village Foundation, children in the most isolated communities now have educational opportunities that they could never have dreamed of in the past.
Solar Village Foundation creates long-lasting partnerships with every community they work with, facilitating upliftment to become an increasingly self-sufficient solar village. Children receive better education and opportunities and communities become more resilient and sustainable, improving the quality of life in every village they reach.
With your help, Solar Village can save an isolated village on its journey to sustainable development. Be the light for a community in the Philippines by supporting Solar Village and their work.
