Solar Power Station for Malawian Campus
Transformative Praxis Malawi (TPM) Canada, a registered Not-For-Profit, is organizing this fundraiser to benefit the TPM campus in Malawi.
A Solar Electrical Power Station is desperately needed to support a truly unique Education, Health and Development Campus (for the people) in Malawi.
TPM has an established record of anti-corruption and assuring that 100% of your contributions will go towards the goal of a central solar power station that will provide much-needed electricity to fuel multiple humanitarian efforts on the TPM Campus (http://www.transformativepraxis.com/).
The TPM Campus in rural Malawi is an Education, Health and Development project that is entirely owned by and registered to local community members and primarily supports the needs of vulnerable children, the blind and women. In their quest for a long-term, sustainable, independent and ethical power source, they are looking to the creation of a central solar power station that will provide dependable electricity to the entire campus effort.
Your donation will help in powering the following efforts by providing electricity to:
• A women’s chicken coop cooperative
• An elementary school
• A water irrigation system for food sustainability
• A water tank for clean drinking water
• Teacher housing
• A community center
• A computer room
• Conference space and living quarters for visitors and researchers, such as the Peoples with Disabilities organization of Malawi
• A planned health clinic
• And much more!
Last year we began communications with Danforth Solar (http://danforthsolar.com/) regarding estimate costs for our needs. We were very impressed with the company’s ethical commitment to training local people on mastery and maintenance of solar equipment. The rough total that we have provided is based on the estimates discussed. However, if we find a better price while fundraising, we will shift remaining money to complete the construction of the Grade 3 & 4 block, and Teacher Housing.
Your donations will save lives, enrich the impoverished and empower some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
