Solar Power for Rudy

Hi, my name is Richard. I'm hoping to raise funds for my brother-in-law, Rudy. He has been living off the grid for several years in the high desert of northern Arizona. Rudy bought the land maybe 40 years ago and it had been his dream, after retirement from his job in California, to move there, build a home (off grid) and live out his days.

While he has realized the retirement, moving to his land in Arizona, working the land, and starting home construction parts of this dream, there have been snags along the way. Mainly, finding help with construction and especially getting his Solar power system set up, as well as getting the wind generator that he owns installed correctly.

Rudy, is very industrious and has been able to get his solar system up and running for a while. Last year, after relocating his solar equipment to it's permanent location on the property, and connecting a questionable appliance, something drained his solar system battery banks down to where they are not usable anymore.

So, Rudy has been without electricity for some time now, relying on a small generator for intermittent essentials. Being on a small fixed income and with the price of EVERYTHING going way up, he is finding it challenging to be able to afford and new bank of 12 solar batteries.

This fundraiser is to help Rudy purchase the needed solar batteries, and also to have a Solar System contractor or subject matter expert check out the overall system to prevent the problem from reoccurring.

Rudy has worked hard and made it through many harsh seasons on his own, all the while staying friendly and helping those around him when they've been in need. I would like to see Rudy be somewhat comfortable in his home for whatever time he has left, and realize some of the rest of his dream.
