So…I’m running Manchester Marathon!

Donation protected
On 27th April I’ll be running my first ever marathon in Manchester.

I love running and over the past year I have started entering more races and enjoyed the challenge of different distances. Although this one will be by far the furthest distance I have attempted!!

To help motivate me to get to the finish line I’m planning to raise money for a lovely local dementia charity called So…

We have lots of wonderful grandparents who have been affected by dementia or currently have dementia and I will be running with them in mind. Plus, in my work with older adults I regularly support people living with dementia.

So… offer lots of amazing support for people who are diagnosed with dementia at a young age.

The charity was set up by Dirck Geary who was a rugby player for Leicester tigers, diagnosed in 2021 with Alzheimer’s when he was just 60 years old. He was looking for support for people like himself and found there was little around. He set up So… to help other people who have been diagnosed young to receive support and information about dementia, meet socially and enjoy regular days out together.

Any donations would be well received and from knowing the work So… do I hope to do my bit to support this fantastic small local charity. If you would like to follow my training and offer any words of encouragement you can follow me on Strava: https://strava.app.link/tfvhXE4x0Rb
