Hola, soy Sofía Rivas, tengo 18 años y soy una orgullosa representante de Venezuela en uno de los Colegios del Mundo Unido (UWC) en Tailandia, he llegado hasta la otra parte del mundo gracias a una beca que gané por mi esfuerzo académico y compromiso social, hace un año atrás.

Desde agosto de 2024, he estado viviendo una experiencia maravillosa, llena de aprendizajes, retos y crecimiento personal. Le pongo el alma a cada paso, con la convicción de dejar en alto el nombre de mi país y abrir camino para muchos otros jóvenes como yo.

Este verano, el colegio va a cerrar durante el verano y necesito buscar la manera de volver a casa, (ya no es solo un tema de que tan importante es para mí, tanto emocional como mentalmente) si no que es una situación ajustada y complicada la cual ha hecho a mi familia pasar por mucho estrés y complicaciones intentado buscar una solución para costear los pasajes,puesto que nuestra economía no es estable haciendo que nuestros recursos financieros sean limitados.

El único obstáculo que tengo ahora es económico: no cuento con los recursos suficientes para costear los boletos de avión desde Tailandia a Venezuela y de regreso.

Por eso, con mucha humildad y esperanza, he creado esta campaña. Tu ayuda —por pequeña que parezca— puede hacer posible este reencuentro tan esperado y sacar a mi familia y a mi de esta incertidumbre.

Hi, I am Sofia Rivas, I am 18 years old and I am a proud representative of Venezuela in one of the United World Colleges (UWC) in Thailand, I have reached the other side of the world thanks to a scholarship I won for my academic effort and social commitment, a year ago.

Since August 2024, I have been living a wonderful experience, full of learning, challenges, and personal growth. I put my soul into every step, with the conviction of leaving my country's name high and opening the way for many other young people like me.

This summer, the school is going to close for the summer and I need to find a way to return home, (it is no longer just a matter of how important it is for me, both emotionally and mentally) but it is a tight and complicated situation which has made my family go through a lot of stress and complications trying to find a solution to pay for the tickets, since our economy is not stable making our financial resources limited.

The only obstacle I have now is economic: I do not have enough resources to pay for the plane tickets from Thailand to Venezuela and back.

That is why I have created this campaign with much humility and hope. Your help, however small it may seem, can make this long-awaited reunion possible and lift my family and me out of this uncertainty.
