SOAR & Alexander Vartan: Chain-Breaker Fundraiser
Tax deductible
When my family and I went to Montreal about two months ago, I was at the Carrefour Laval shopping center and while I was there, I kept singing a riff by one of my favorite bands Black Sabbath. I kept making up different variations of the song in my head and eventually it landed on the main riff you’ll hear in Chain-Breaker. When I hummed it to myself I was like “OOOOO this is a cool riff! Let me record myself humming it so I can remember it later!” And so I did. Since I had brought my guitar and bass with me to Montreal, I figured out how to play it and recorded it in the car. After that, a few days later, I recorded drums and keyboard for the song. Then, the most challenging part, the vocals. I needed something that I could relate to. So I decided to write about my LORD and savior Jesus Christ. I decided to write about how if you put your trust in him, he can “break your chains” and set you free from anything wrong in your life. Now, let me get to the part about the artwork. While writing the lyrics to the song, I suddenly remembered that most Armenians (myself included) are primarily Christians. Then I remembered what is going on in Artsakh and I realized that this song could help out, not only young Armenian orphans but every Armenian period, in need of motivation, inspiration, and a sense of hope, even if it’s only for a little while. So, this song will be dedicated to every Armenian orphan in the country striving to survive this terrible aftermath from the recent conflict and deportations in Artsakh as a result of the ruthless Azerbaijani government. There will be a GoFundMe link in my bio. My goal is to raise at least $500. The name of the charity is called Society for Orphaned Armenian Relief. Not only would that mean the world to me if we could reach that, but it would mean SO much to all Armenians around the world. You can donate as much money as you’d like, anything helps! Thank you for taking the time to read this and get ready for tomorrow because it’s gonna be LOUD! Stay tuned
