Hey friends —
Starting this November, millions of people are losing their SNAP/EBT food benefits.
Right before Thanksgiving, too? What in the actual helly?!
That means parents, seniors, disabled folks, and and super hard-working people — who are already doing their best in an impossible job market, low wages, high prices — are suddenly being told: “Good luck. You’re on your own.”
That doesn't sit right with me! So instead of doomscrolling and feeling general despair about the state of everything everywhere, all at once... I’m doing something about it.
Because I really believe people deserve food! And most people I know (including myself) are having a hard time right now.
What is SNAP BACK!?
SNAP BACK! is a community-driven, mutual-aid fund to help people hit hardest by these cuts.
Here’s how it works:
✅ Anyone who wants to help can donate.
✅ People who’ve lost SNAP benefits (or who qualify but aren’t getting them) can apply via a private email.
✅ They’ll provide simple proof of eligibility (like a photo of their EBT card or ID — with numbers covered for privacy).
✅ Based on donations, they’ll get a $50 or $100 grocery gift card — no red tape, no judgment, just food on the table.
Because honestly? Everyone deserves to eat with dignity — not panic over how to stretch a box of pasta for a week.
️ Why this matters
SNAP isn’t a handout. It’s how millions of families, kids, seniors, and disabled people survive.
Most SNAP households include someone working — sometimes two jobs — and it’s still not enough when rent and groceries keep climbing.
Here’s the reality:
Over 40 million Americans rely on SNAP.
1 in 8 U.S. households faces food insecurity.
Many families with children use SNAP — and they’ll be hit the hardest by these cuts.
It’s cruel to make people choose between food and everything else — especially during a season that’s supposed to be about gratitude and community.
Where your donation goes
Every dollar you give goes directly toward grocery gift cards for real people.
No overhead. No middlemen. No bureaucracy.
$10 = helps fill a pantry
$50 = feeds a family for a few days
$100 = puts a full Thanksgiving dinner on the table — and maybe some leftovers
We might not be able to fix the system overnight,
but together, we can make sure our neighbors eat tonight.
If you’ve ever needed help and been too proud to ask,
or ever wanted to help but didn’t know where to start — this is your chance. Let’s SNAP BACK!
Thank you for caring.
