Snail4 M.E. Finding Homes for people with M.E.

People with M.E. have very little safety or security for either their person or belongings, and many struggle to get out of bed.
Let alone spend eight hours without crawling back in, or even think about work or sitting at a desk.

Snail4.ME is trying to find some of the #MissingMillions of #pwME, and help us build a better life for ourselves.

We hope to start small, and partner with groups such as Men's Sheds, M.E. groups, other charities, and HomeShare.

Working together to provide real solutions + real security for some of our most vulnerable citizens.

M.E. is one of the least understood and treatable diseases, not just by Doctors, but by family and carers too.

We look healthy-ish, but people don't see us crashed out in bed, unable to do anything for days.

I've been working on these ideas for a while, and even found myself somewhat homeless recently.

Snails don't move very fast, but that is ideal for people with ME.

A motorhome or similar may not provide as much security as a real home, but it is better than being a slug :)

I had heavily modified some of my furniture and room to make it much more accessible for people with M.E.

I actually worked as a Handyman part-time as I worked my way through University.

Later I worked as an IT Manager, and learnt a lot about ergonomics and usability.

I hope to expand and integrate these skill sets to make 'homes' for people with ME and other illnesses, as well as provide adaptive transport services for others.

We have a few other plans to help other #pwME who have different needs, because none of us are the same, or have quite the same needs, or would even want to live in a motorhome.
