The SMOC R&R Agriculture Wellness Program was created to help low-income individuals and families reconnect with sustainable living through agriculture, wellness, and community education.
As food costs continue to rise and many communities experience limited access to healthy fresh foods, this program aims to provide education, hands-on gardening experience, and sustainable food-growing opportunities that promote wellness, self-sufficiency, and long-term community support.
Through community gardening initiatives, agriculture education, and outdoor wellness engagement, participants will learn the importance of growing healthy food, understanding sustainability, improving nutrition awareness, reducing food insecurity, and building stronger community connections.
Our goal is to create a peaceful and educational outdoor environment where individuals and families can learn practical gardening skills, understand the value of healthy food choices, and experience the emotional and mental wellness benefits that agriculture and nature can provide.
Funds raised will help support decomposed granite garden preparation, sustainable gardening development, irrigation systems, gardening tools and supplies, outdoor seating and wellness spaces, shade and hydration stations, and ongoing program operations that serve low-income individuals and families throughout the community.
By supporting this initiative, you are helping plant seeds for healthier living, stronger communities, food sustainability, and long-term wellness for those who need it most.
