In Freetown, Sierra Leone, the Flames Cycling Team, founded and funded by Mr. Richard, is transforming the lives of vulnerable young people. Many of these children come from the streets, facing poverty, drugs, and a lack of opportunity. Flames gives them more than just bicycles – it gives them hope, purpose, and a future.

Through cycling, the young riders learn discipline, teamwork, and the power of setting goals. But Flames goes far beyond sport:

• Education first – Mr. Richard insists every rider stays in school, and when needed, he even helps cover university fees.

• Life skills – Riders learn bicycle mechanics and other practical skills they can carry into adulthood.

• A pathway to the world stage – This year alone, three Flames riders were invited to the UCI World Championships in Rwanda. For young people once on the streets, that’s an extraordinary achievement. Sadly, only one rider could afford to travel.
