small changes, BIG DIFFERENCE

Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page today. My name is Meru, and I am called to celebrate my 40th birthday with a purpose this year. Since I am a high achiever, my goal is to raise $40,000. I ask you to join me to make a BIG DIFFERENCE so together we can make an IMPACT and help others who are going through life challenges.

When I was younger I used to think that homeless people choose to be homeless as they might be lazy or drug/alcohol users and even if those might be valid in some cases, as I grow older I am learning that there are people who end up in difficult times despite their hard work. What breaks my heart the most is that children are often affected.
There are many organizations that need our help. I have selected two non-profit organizations in my community to help those who are struggling to meet their basic needs due to various reasons, i.e mental illness in the family, job loss, battered spouses and most importantly because there are CHILDREN involved. Like many of us, I have gone through some tough life-changing events in my life during the last 8 years, and luckily, meeting basic needs was not a concern for me. However, I cannot even imagine the despair and helplessness one can feel as when their world is falling apart and they cannot even provide simple necessities such as food, home & security for their families. Can you imagine living without power? Or have no gas to commute to work? Or no heat or AC? Or no food on the table? Possibly even be kicked out of your home?
I did educate myself with these two selected non-profits. They do a very good job of making sure that the funds are used to help people who are in fact in need of support whether is it helping them to fix their cars, provide gas so that they are able to commute to work, they even assist families to get their hot water and electricity turned on. The mission of these non-profits is to ENABLE the people who come to get support from them for a better life and not disable them.
How can you make a BIG DIFFERENCE?
1. Give any amount your heart desires.
2. Become a corporate/ business owner sponsor.
3. Participate in "Project 40 Scavenger Challenge" that starts April 1, 2020, where you can join a private Facebook group to participate in 40 self-improvement simple activities to give yourself love while helping others. We will have so much fun doing this together and will draw weekly prizes for active participants.
4. Help celebrate my birthday by participating in games and raffles where all the proceeds will go to the cause.
5. For local business owners opportunity to provide services and/or products for raffles to support the fundraising efforts.
6. Last but not least, SHARE the cause and create awareness, it would mean the world to me to if you could help spread the word.
I greatly appreciate your support and joining me to make a BIG DIFFERENCE. Let’s make a huge IMPACT for families with children. Together, we can help educate everyone on the mission to help people to meet their basic needs in our communities by raising awareness. No one is safe from a bad situation in life that might happen to any of us at any time even though we like to think nothing bad will ever happen to us.
