#SlowSteadyCaliStrong Stand with Cali and The Wilson’s

Everyone keeps asking how they can help . Here’s your chance . With permission from the family here is some back story and an update :

Saturday evening 5/11 Cali and her nephew Raiden was washing her truck. Cali started to get sick with a severe head ache and told Raiden to go get( her boyfriend )Colby , by the time Crystal and Colby got outside to get to Cali, she had deteriorated super fast. 911 was called immediately. While on their way to the hospital Cali began to have seizures and was intubated immediately to clear her airway. She had aspirated some, not much. The care team at Tennova was amazing and one of the doctors even wanted to ride with Cali over to UT to help speed up getting her there for the treatment Cali needed! The medical helicopter would take to long and she needed help immediately. Because you do not see a 23 year old come in with this type of brain injury. We have been told that Cali is a medical mystery at this point. As in they can’t tell us where the bleed is/ was or if it has closed itself back up yet or anything . No one knows why this has happened. We have been reassured there is no active bleeding at this time . Cali has some very important test that are needed but cannot get them until we get ICP levels under control. The updates that some are receiving change on a dime! Her parents Crystal and Rusty have not left Cali since this has happened and are so thankful for the support and Love our community has shown! Cali has some very special people that have surrounded all of us and we will forever be thankful for this! Cali has been in a medically induced coma while on the vent more or less since this happen . She will continue to be medically out of it until her team feels it’s safe to slowly bring her back . She is finally tolerating moving positions for small intervals . Cali has been in a sitting position for the last few weeks unable to make even the slightest movement without it being detrimental to her safety . She was able to lay flat for 29 mins over the weekend for the first time in weeks under close supervision. Cali has a long road ahead . Cali’s doctor want her to tolerate being flat for one hour to get one of the test she needs. We are working up to that tolerance more each day . Rusty and Crystal have not left her side one time since this happen . This family is the type to NEVER ask for help for many reasons one being someone could always need it worse than they do in their eyes . They are the first to come to your aid if you need it . Once you’re one of them you’re one of them for life ! Please help us lighten the load for this family . They are down 3 incomes and being in the Neuro Critical Care is not going to come without a hefty price tag . Cali has insurance, however the cost of being in the hospital , co-pays , lack of income x3 the list goes on and on . If you feel led to help this family , I know they will greatly appreciate it . The family will receive every penny from this go fund me and if anyone wants to send money Venmo, cash app or PayPal just let me know I can get you the info on how to do that ! More than all things sweet Cali needs all the prayer she can get ! If all goes as planned and she continues to make small gains her team plans to repeat some much needed scans this week and continue dropping her paralytic medication . They advised it could take days to weeks to “get her to wake up “. We are anticipating once she is stabilized more and more consistent with her numbers she will require additional care from a larger hospital with specialized surgeons to develop a more permanent plan . The doctors here are not able to “fix” what they believe she may have but we are told it can be done elsewhere once she’s constantly stable .

Most current update 5/28 : They lowered the sedation today very briefly to see if Cali could follow basic commands . She was able to open her eyes on command , move her hands and tried to move her feet but is very weak . They didn’t allow her to be awake long before sedating her again to continue to allow her brain to rest . She has been sedated for almost 3 weeks . She has a long road ahead of her . Praise God for his healing power !

It took a lot of persuading to get the Wilson’s on board to accept help . This is the ONLY authorized go fund me or active fundraiser at this time .
