Sat, Aug 10 at 8 PM - Sun Aug 11 at 7 AM
21+ after 10 PM (sorry, no kids allowed for the sleepover!)
Stronghold Climbing Gym, 650 S Ave 21, Los Angeles, CA
HOUSE RULES
- Attendees should bring: Sleeping materials (no tents, please), toiletries, and any medications.
- We'll have beer (for suggested donation), and you can BYOB. No drinking outside or on the mats!
- No in and out privileges, except for emergencies.
- No use of the workout area.
- We'll be locking the doors and lights out at 12 AM. Designating your sleeping area will be first come, first serve.
- No pets, sorry (No in and out privileges makes it hard, and we want to be mindful that not everyone wants to sleep around animals).
- Don't leave anything valuable in your car!
Since November, Climb the Gap has introduced 150 young people to the sport of climbing, and Stronghold has generously covered the cost of their day passes and rental equipment. We'd like to extend the opportunity for those young people to continue their exploration of the sport we love, so that the people in climbing and nature are reflective of the communities we come from.
We have already identified 2 young people to attend summer camp this year, and would like to have the capacity to provide monthly passes to more young people in the coming school year. It costs $475/student for one week of summer camp, and $84/student for a monthly pass. There is also $300 in expenses that Climb the Gap members have paid out of pocket in order to keep the group going, that we would love to repay!
Climb the Gap is a collective of climbers based out of Los Angeles that aims to support current and future climbers of color. Our mission is to cultivate a more diverse and equitable climbing community.
