I’m really excited to announce the Slab Scramble for Gaza! I’ve been thinking about hosting an event like this all year and have finally finished putting the pieces together to form this fundraiser for a cause I feel passionately about. What is happening to the Palestinian people in Gaza makes me weep, they are innocent and suffering. I’ve been climbing for 22 years and live an exceptionally privileged life and thus far my climbing has only been geared towards personal satisfaction but now I have an opportunity to use my outreach as a climber to give back some aid to those who desperately need it. I invite all of you to join me in giving back on July 13th to participate in this event that will help you not only build your slab skills, but also help those who need it. This is clearly a humanitarian catastrophe and has me feeling crushed to know that helpless people are dying. I am Jewish and was raised Jewish but to know that the Israeli government is going beyond just defence and blasting through those who do not have the basic needs for life, to get to their enemies despite the countless innocent casualties has me deeply disheartened. This is not a political divide this is a humanitarian issue. I hope that this event can make even the smallest difference, because something certainly needs to change.
