Help Baby Skyla: A Miracle in the Making
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out today with a heavy heart but also with hope and faith, as we share the story of a precious little girl, Skyla, who was born on December 21, 2024, 4 weeks earlier than expected. Skyla’s arrival into this world has been a bittersweet journey, and she is facing some extraordinary challenges that require your love, support, and prayers.
Skyla was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a genetic condition where cysts form in the kidneys, potentially impairing their function over time. Her early birth and her diagnosis have meant that she has had to fight from the very start. Since her birth, Skyla has been in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), where she is receiving round-the-clock care from an incredible medical team.
Although our hearts ache as we learn more about this disease, she continues to amaze us with her strength and determination. But her journey is just beginning, and mom/dad (Sydnee and Devan Parsons) are facing not only emotional challenges but financial ones as well. The medical costs for Skyla’s treatment and the extended stay in the NICU are overwhelming, and I am asking for your support to help them ensure she receives everything she needs during this time and to ease their burden and give them more time with Skyla.
What Skyla Needs:
- Ongoing NICU care and monitoring
- Specialized medical treatments for her PKD
- Support for her long-term health journey
- Travel and accommodation for parents who are staying close to her (Much time with mom!)
- Miscellaneous medical expenses
We know that the road ahead will be a long one, and are committed to doing everything we can to give Skyla the best possible chance to thrive. But we cannot do this alone. We are humbly asking for your support, whether through donations or prayers. Every penny will go directly to helping Skyla get the care she needs.
How You Can Help:
1. Donate: Any contribution, big or small, will make a world of difference to Skyla’s care and treatment.
2. Share: Help us spread the word by sharing this campaign with your network. The more people who know about Skyla’s story, the greater the support she will receive.
3. Pray: Your thoughts and prayers mean the world.
Skyla’s precious strength and the love surrounding her are truly inspiring. We know that with the help of our wonderful friends, family, and even strangers who feel called to help, Skyla can grow stronger every day.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of Skyla’s journey.
With love and gratitude,
Skyla’s Family
