Update: I went back today and my co-tenant has abandoned the apartment, and im pretty sure left the country. Ive uploaded a few photos of the apartment. Both doors were broken and there was writing everywhere and garbage. The appliances were taped shut. We will have to fix the front door in order to find someone to take over the entire lease and clean the place as it was left in pretty bad condition. I will try to upload pics of texts and emails shes sent me later on today.

Last June I moved out of an apartment I moved into with a friend who developed some kind of psychosis / mental health issue. Since then, I havent had access to the apartment as my co-tenant has been denying me a key, and the landlord refuses to provide me one while im forced to pay rent at this apartment and the one i currently live in. Im disabled and receive income through the basic income program, and have had to pay 2 rents and legal fees while this situation is sorted. Im worried that as of October, ill have to pay the entirety of the rent at the apartment I had to leave, as my co-tenant is saying shes leaving.

For the past months, ive received cruel and harassing messages from my co-tenant, as well as having her lie to my landlord about me, and harass my friends, all while the landlord isnt doing anything to intervene. This situation has been incredibly taxing. I feel scared to go there, and even if i wanted to at this point i'm still being denied a key.

Im disabled from severe childhood trauma and receive income through the basic income program and make income on the side cleaning houses. The stress of the situation has caused me to loose the majority of my work. Most of my days have been spent trying to do paperwork for the tal case, contacting lawyers and trying to get in contact with the landlord who doesnt want to get involved. Ive been in more and more debt because of this situation and I dont know how im going to get by.

I started a tal case but have to pay rent for the room I was renting (573$) anyways. The subletter for the third bedroom just moved out, and my co-tenant is saying shes abandoning the apartment at this point so the rent will fall on me as theres a solidarity clause on the lease. Its been really hard to reach her via registered mail, or balif (which ended up succeeding since her mom was in town who answered the door), but now Ill have to do the whole process again because I need to make an amendment to the case.

Im concerned about my ability to pay the entire rent (1700$) going forward until I get a hearing for the TAL case.

From what Ive heard from a subletter, the co-tenant got taken to the hospital after barricading the front door and screaming and banging things. The police were called and broke the front door. Apparently the door doesnt lock anymore. She sent an email to the landlord that shes vacating the premise. Because of the solidarity clause the entirety of the rent will fall on me if she doesnt pay part of it, instead of just 1/3 or 1/2.

I had to move 3 times last year, I dont have any family I can fall back on. Im scared and asking for help covering the costs of rent at the apartment I had to move from, the costs of rent I had to pay on top of my current rent and legal costs.

Breakdown of costs
Rent at old apartment for July, June and august (573*3= $1719)
Legal fees, bailiff, registered mail, etc. = around 300$
October rent = 1700$

I rounded up to 5000$ to account for interest on the debt ive taken on, moving costs, the work ive lost, costs of living as my disability has degraded, and because I will have to continue to try and hire a bailiff and send registered letters moving forward, and dont know if the situation will be rectified by November, but even if some of the costs are covered that would be a huge relief.
