I’m taking on a charity skydive to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities, a cause that means a huge amount to me and my family.
When my son was born, we were told he had a rare heart condition that he wouldn’t survive without open heart surgery shortly after birth - Transposition of the Great arteries and a VSD.
He had open heart surgery at just 11 days old at Evelina Children’s Hospital in London. 3 weeks later, due to complications, needed a second surgery to have a pacemaker fitted.
As you can imagine, this was the most frightening and overwhelming time of our lives.
During those weeks, Ronald McDonald House gave us somewhere to stay close to the hospital so we could be near our baby while he fought through two surgeries and recovery. We ended up staying there for six weeks, and I honestly don’t know what we would have done without them.
They gave us more than just a place to sleep – they gave us support, comfort, and the ability to be there for our son every single day when he needed us most.
Now I want to give something back.
So I’ll be doing a charity skydive to raise money to help Ronald McDonald House continue supporting families going through some of the hardest moments of their lives.
My fundraising target is £400, and every donation – no matter how small – will make a huge difference.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give.
