More information about The Pachamama Project CIO: We distribute volunteer-made reusable sanitary pads to refugees and other vulnerable people who are suffering from period poverty. Our pads provide dignity and keep girls in school. Since founding in 2020, we have sent more than 120,000 pads to people in need, taking more than 15,000 individuals out of period poverty in Lebanon, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Pakistan, Uganda, Ukraine, South Sudan, Syria, the USA and here in the UK. Period poverty is suffered by 500m worldwide, 26m of whom are refugees.
