Summertime is when the volunteers at the Brattleboro Ski Hill repair and conduct maintenance at our facility. We depend on a lot of equipment to load our passenger T-Bar and watch the smiles on kids' faces as they ski/board down our slope at Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro. Did you know that Brattleboro Ski Hill has a snowmaking system that is depended on to lay down a base of snow and maintain coverage to ski on for the entire Winter?
Our volunteer snowmakers spent more than 400 hours ensuring the conditions were safe and skiable at all times last season. This equipment works very hard, and it is time we make necessary updates to our pump-house to allow for the growing snowmaking operation we have to keep up with warm temperatures and less natural snowfall. Our volunteer non-profit is asking the public for contributions toward these updates.
We are expanding the pump-house structure, updating central piping, repairing an old water pump, and conducting some dredging work in the adjacent pond. While we have continued to maintain a low-cost opportunity for skiing and snowboarding for the last 25 years, it is the support from the community we serve that keep us alive and provides this service. If you would prefer to make a donation by mail, cash or checks payable to LMPSS, Inc. can be sent to PO Box 1945, Brattleboro, VT 05302. Donors interested in matching donations or who have other fundraising ideas can email us at [email redacted]
