The Nicholson Family

Sara, Rob, Tia (12), Will (10), and Jemma (4) were on their way to northern Minnesota for Sara's grandma's funeral when they slipped on a patch of ice, lost control, and their vehicle went into the ditch and hit tree. Everyone is going to be ok, but Rob and Will will probably be in the hospital in Des Moines for 2 or 3 weeks before being transferred to Madonna in Lincoln for rehab. Rob broke his pelvis, femur, tibia, thumb, and ribs on both sides, cracked his knee cap, and cut his hand. They did surgery last night to repair the femur and stitch up his hand. He'll probably have surgery again today to finish fixing his leg. Tia has a broken clavicle. Will broke both femurs and both wrists. He had surgery last night on his legs, and they casted his arms. Jemma had a depressed skull fracture that they surgically repaired yesterday. Tia should be discharged today. Jemma is expected to be released this weekend. Sara just has bruised ribs and some other bumps and bruises. We are raising money so Sara does not have to be stressed about not working because the place she needs to be is with her family while they recover. Anything will help.
