Support Siwei’s Boston Marathon journey with SACH!

The South Asian Circle of Hopkinton (SACH) is thrilled to have Siwei Luo, running the 130th Boston Marathon on Monday April 20, 2026, and raising funds for SACH!

Siwei’s journey as a Marathoner

Siwei is an IT specialist serving in the Federal Government in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Her running journey began unexpectedly when she discovered that one of the patient-tracking systems she supported was used during the Army Ten-Miler. Curious about the sport, she registered for the race—and successfully completed it. That experience sparked a passion that led her to tackle the Navy–Air Force Half Marathon, and not long after, she found herself at the starting line of the 2017 Marine Corps Marathon. Since then, Siwei has completed 14 marathons, two 50Ks, countless half marathons and 10-milers, and several Ragnar Trail Relay races.

Siwei’s accomplishments within her community

For many years, Siwei has served as a pace group coach in a local road runners club’s marathon training program. She has built a strong “running family” within her pace group, ensuring her runners feel supported during every training run and every race. Beyond coaching, she has also organized multiple fun-run events for a local elementary school, helping raise tens of thousands of dollars for the school community.

Siwei’s dreams about completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors

Siwei began her Abbott World Marathon Majors six-star journey in 2019 after being selected through the Chicago Marathon lottery. The pandemic briefly paused her in-person races, but she returned to complete the Berlin, London, New York City, and Tokyo Marathons in the years that followed. Siwei proudly identifies as a back-of-the-pack runner—someone who runs for joy, community, and perseverance. Knowing she would never time-qualify for Boston, she continued entering the Abbott race draws and submitting charity applications, believing that persistence and training would eventually open the door. That belief became reality when SACH contacted her with the news she had been selected as their charity runner for the 2026 Boston Marathon—a dream come true and the final star of her remarkable journey.
