As-salamu alaykum,

We are a group of sisters in Oshawa dedicated to turning faith into action. When we saw the rising homelessness in our own neighborhoods, we had to ask ourselves: How can we call this our community if we don’t serve it? As Ramadan approaches, we recognize that this is not only a time for self-reflection but a vital time to give back. On New Year’s Day of this year, we successfully distributed over 50 meal bags in South Oshawa (see our cover photo!). We believe every person is a human in need of God’s mercy, regardless of their background.

The Power of Your Sadaqah

The Quran gives us a beautiful promise regarding our charity: “Those who in charity spend of their goods by night and by day... have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.” — (2:274) This verse tells us that Sadaqah is a means of safety and protection. By preferring others over ourselves in this life, we are promised a safe passage in the next.

Our Ramadan 2026 Goals

Building on our New Year's success, we are raising funds for:

• Meal & Water Distribution: Providing food and clean water—the charity the Prophet (PBUH) called "the best."

• Eid Joy: Purchasing toys for children’s Eidi to ensure every child celebrates.

• Hygiene Kits: Essential supplies for those without stable housing.

• Elderly Care & Leadership: Supporting local care facilities and those working daily for community change.
