Single Mom with Autistic Children Needs Help

Hi, my name is Alina and like many people at this time we have experienced extreme hardship.

In August we attempted to move to Florida with a temporary situation with the children’s father to co parent, start school and return to work. Mostly related to the issue that my disabled children were not able to attend school since March 2020 and this had put us into extreme financial hardship. While in Florida the school systems there were unable to safely place my two with Autism due to their disabilities and I continued to be unemployed living from savings in the children’s father’s home caring for them while working with the school system.

Living with them and he allowed me to see the abuse my children were experiencing, physical and mental. I have two children who can not verbalize. After calling authorities, Florida law allows “discipline” until bones are broken. I had videotaped their dad multiple times and because of this he was having me evicted from his home. It was a very hostile environment. I was able with the savings I had left, to hire a driver to take us all back to NJ. Ive been back a week now, with nothing but what fit in 2 suitcases. I’m staying with family and again trying to get children properly placed in schools so I can reestablish some normalcy and work again.

I would greatly appreciate any help. We lost our home, car and all belongings and have a long road ahead.

11/22 An update. 

My 2 children on the spectrum finally started school last week!

I’m starting a job this week and am so looking forward to working again after not working since March of 2020. In a few weeks I’ll have my first paycheck!
