Single mom seeking funds for legal costs

Hi, my name is Heidi. I'm a single mom of 3 children. I am seeking funds to help with the legal fees of obtaining a lawyer to proceed in a divorce battle.

Two years ago I fled a mentally and financially abusive relationship and have been raising the kids solely on my own with no help from their father. Over the past 2 years he has been taken to court by the province for non payment of child support and also charged with sexual interference of a minor. He has not seen the kids since January of 2024, nor has made the effort to see them.

I have been wanting to file for divorce but with the expenses of every day life and raising 3 kids on my own, I haven't had the extra funds to do so. He has now filed for divorce and is seeking full parenting of 2 of the children, I imagine he doesn't want the other one because that's where the sexual interference charges came from. I cannot let this monster have full parenting of my beautiful children. I have met with an amazing lawyer that can win my case, but I need funds to help with the legal costs.

I hate asking for help, I'm the person that feels bad if someone buys me a coffee. In this situation I'm finding myself not having a choice but to ask for help. The total retainer for the lawyer is $10,000 we have discussed and arrangement that I can pay $5,000 up front and the other $5,000 in 30 days so the entire retainer is covered.

Any little bit will help me immensely and I would be eternally grateful for the help in assisting me winning this case so I don't loose my kids to this monster.
