Yesterday morning, our lives were turned upside down again. We lost everything in a house fire, leaving me and my kids starting over from nothing for the second time in less than two years.

UPDATE

I don’t even know where to start, because words truly don’t feel big enough for the gratitude in my heart right now. The love and support that me and my kids have received through this time has been more than I could have ever imagined. I never thought so many people would come together for us the way you all have, and it has touched me in ways I’ll never be able to fully explain.

To the parents of the kids I work with thank you. You all have gone above and beyond for me, and the fact that many of you, while working so hard at Whirlpool, still found the time, love, and generosity to support me and my family means everything. I will never forget what you’ve done for us.

To my manager, Brooke thank you for being there not only as a leader, but as someone who has shown true compassion and kindness when I needed it most. Your support has been a light for me in such a dark time.

And to every single person who donated, shared, or even sent prayers and kind words you may not realize just how much you’ve helped us. Your support has lifted such a heavy weight from my shoulders and reminded me that we’re not alone in this. Me and my kids are beyond thankful, and we feel your love carrying us through.

On May 1st, 2024, we had already lost our home and became homeless overnight through no fault of our own. I moved us all the way to Michigan, hoping for family support, but it wasn’t there. Since then, we’ve been struggling—losing our car, facing setback after setback, and trying to rebuild while I was pregnant and raising my children on my own.

Just as I was fighting to get us back on our feet, this fire has taken the little bit we had managed to hold onto. We are now starting completely from scratch again.

I’m a mom doing my best to stay strong for my two kids, but the truth is—it’s overwhelming. Right now, we need help with the basics: clothing, food, baby supplies, and eventually finding stable housing again.

I never thought I’d be asking for help once, let alone twice. But any support—whether it’s a donation, sharing this, or even a kind word—will make a huge difference as I try to rebuild a safe and stable life for my children.
