Single mom & her 4 year old son- refugees who need our help

Hello Friends,

I am writing this in hopes in may appeal to your hearts and if you’re able to help any way big or small, you will. There is a little boy who is in our children’s school that came to America with only his mother as a refugee from Afghanistan in March of this year. She has taught herself English and has even acquired a drivers license, even though she doesn’t have a car yet. As a single mom she has been trying desperately to find a job but childcare has been a major hurdle, she has finally gotten a job that begins in January. The refugee agency that brought them here has now said they will no longer pay their rent anymore after this month, so they can go live in a shelter in January. That is not a good option, we’re trying to help them until they’re on their feet fully.

There’s so much more to the story but at the end of the day this a courageous woman and a beautifully kind little boy who just needs a little extra grace and good will. But for the Grace of God go I - and I know that I can’t imagine being in their shoes. We are doing what we can ourselves to help as well as an amazing little church and school family that’s helping as best they can.
