Single Mom Family in Need During Holidays

Hi, My name is Heidi Howes and I am the cofounder of Mothers In Arms, a nonprofit dedicated to filling in the gaps for single mother families with nurturing, resources, and community.

We had an event on Monday night and when I was asking the Moms what they were doing for the holidays, one of them said she didn't have anything because she has been out of work for the past month. She started her new job today but she is already behind on her basic bills and she doesn't have any extra for Christmas.

She has 2 children--a 11 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. She is behind on her electric, gas, and water bills and also needs to come up with rent for January. The total for bills alone is approximately $970. On top of that we would like to raise $500 for a Christmas dinner and some Christmas gifts for the family. We need to raise this in the next 5 days in order to make Christmas happen.

Please give whatever you can to help this Mom and her children have a wonderful Christmas free of worry going into the New Year.
