My name is Ruba, and I am a 55-year-old Palestinian woman from Gaza. I have lived through unimaginable hardship—losing my home, my job, and my health due to the ongoing war. My daughters and I have been displaced nine times, living in shelters without windows, lighting, or security. We’ve faced fear, instability, and heartbreak daily.

Our Story

I am currently battling advanced cancer, with tumors spreading to my spine, which makes walking and movement extremely painful. On top of that, I was shot, which caused a severe fracture in my right ankle and metatarsal bones. Now I urgently need reconstructive surgery to restore my mobility.

One of my daughters, who has autism, was trapped under rubble for hours during an attack. She is still recovering from her injuries, and she requires special care and constant emotional and physical support.

Due to the ongoing war, I have not been able to receive cancer treatment for nearly two years, which has made my medical condition much worse. My situation is now urgent, and I need immediate access to oncology care to continue fighting for my life.

Medical Background & Treatment History

Diagnosed with breast cancer (RT T2, N2) in October 2015.

Liver metastases found in 2019.

Began treatment with Kisqali, Aromasin, Zomera, and Zoladex in 2020.

Treated under the care of Dr. Bahaa Bashir.

Diagnosis: 53+ year-old female

Recommendation: Continued treatment and reconstructive surgery for ankle injury.
