My name is Dawson Molinski, and I’m a single father doing everything I can to be reunited with my son.

Since separating from my partner, I’ve been fighting for custody for my son. Over the past 16 months, I was only allowed to see my son once for a two-hour visit. Recently, I’ve been granted 2–3, supervised visits per week, each being 2 hours, which I pay $60/hr for. My son is my everything, and every moment I get with him means the world to me. My ultimate goal is to give him the stable, loving home he deserves.

I currently work 55 hours bi-weekly while also attending school full-time to build a better future for both of us. I work with individuals who have intellectual and physical disabilities — a job that I truly love because it allows me to help others live fuller, more independent lives.

Despite my best efforts, the legal fees keep stacking up. I’ve incurred more than $80,000 in legal fees with the majority of costs going towards having to constantly respond, defend, and deflect against false claims and accusations. It’s exhausting — emotionally and financially — but I refuse to give up.

This GoFundMe is my last resort. I don’t like asking for help, but this fight is about more than me — it’s about my son’s future and standing up for what’s right. I’m advocating not only for my own story, but for every innocent father who has to endure this painful, uphill battle.

My story is one of many that unfold when the other parent struggles with untreated mental health issues. No parent or child should have to face the kind of abuse and hardship that arise when serious mental health issues go unaddressed and untreated.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward lawyer fees, court costs, and custody proceedings.
